Yoga and Meditation in Chicago

Chicago has great yoga to offer, everywhere, period. Just look around, not only does the city feature amazing yoga studios but some of the most inspiring places in Chicago have a little yoga and meditation in them.

Here are just a couple of them:

Millennium Park - Every Saturday morning during the summer enjoy a yoga class and live music at one the most inspiring parks in Chicago. Please see the schedule here.

University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel -  Free meditation classes are offered daily at 8am in this beautiful chapel that features stained glass windows and Gothic ceiling. The chapel not only offers meditation but yoga classes as well. Get inspired with them!

Yoga classes at Lincoln Park Zoo’s Nature Boardwalk. Classes are offered June through September. They offer adult yoga classes and family classes for parents and toddlers ages 2-5. Please visit their website for more information.

What about Saturday morning yoga classes at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum? Get yourself into a calmer state of mind by combining yoga and nature! Classes are held in the museum’s Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, are for adults only and cost $15. Space is limited and registration in required. Check out their website for additional information.

Art Institute of Chicago – Family yoga classes with kids ages 6-12. Take a guided walk through the Art Institute of Chicago’s magnificent galleries and then take a yoga class inspired by the art you’ve seen. Register for the next Family Yoga and Art session on May 12. The class is $10-25 and the fee includes museum admission.

We found these through Explore Chicago, do you know of any others? Please let us know!
