Meatless Monday in Chicago! The Alliance for a Greener South Loop‘s (greenersouthloop.com) Meatless Monday in May campaign (MMM). Meatless Monday’s have become a focus for the Alliance for a Greener South Loop because statistics have shown that eating less meat has a larger environmental impact than recycling. The UK’s Food Climate Research Network suggests that “food production from farm to fork is responsible for between 20-30 percent of global green house gas emissions.”

MMM is in full effect, here is how you can join in on the fun.

Whole Foods Market-South Loop is hosting meatless whole meal cooking demonstrations on Mondays in May.

You are also invited to visit the South Loop restaurants that support the environmental and community benefits of this campaign. Be sure to tell your server that you are down for the cause.
